“What is an Infrared Sauna?”

An Infrared Sauna produces heat to help you sweat. The only difference is that unlike traditional saunas that warm up the air around you, an infrared sauna warms up just the body. Because it heats up the body and not the air around it, it can penetrate deeper to release the most toxins which your body flushes out through your sweat. This makes it great for detoxing, losing weight, relieving joint inflammation, rejuvenating your skin, and fighting the flu, just to name a few benefits.

We always encourage our clients to research any therapies they are interested in utilizing. As always, we are here to help answer any questions you may have.

    Infrared sauna:
I work out by lifting weights several days a week. Many times the weight I lift is 80% of my bodyweight or heavier as I am a body builder. After one particular leg day my lower back was sore. As the days went by, my back got stiffer and more sore. I had the chance to use the infrared sauna at MSHW a few days after my workout. Before I entered the sauna I was having difficulty bending forward to unlace my shoes. I sat in the pre-warmed sauna for 30mins. As instructed I sat on a towel, had a towel under my feet, used a washcloth during the session to dry off the sweat, and drank water to help me sweat as well as stay hydrated. Fantastically, once my session concluded I was able to easily pick up the towel from the floor and put my shoes back on. The stiffness in my back did not return. The infrared sauna helped my muscle soreness.
